The Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences and Design in the context of social responsibility is already preparing a series of pilot projects aimed at the model reconstruction of the areas affected by last year’s fire in North Evia. In this context, the Professors of the Department, Mr. Ioannis Papadopoulos (President of the Department) and Mr. Michalis Vrachnakis participated with their public speeches in a scientific conference organized by the Union of Administrative Judges and Harokopio University.
The conference took place in Edipsos from 27-28 May 2022. The Professors of the Department presented the possibilities provided by the science of Forest Economics in the reconstruction of Northern Evia, as well as issues related to the role of extensive livestock in the overall biodiversity of meadows. . The Department will continue such public scientific interventions and actions to contribute to the reconstruction of the region of North Evia.
