As of October 30, 2024, and within the framework of the collaboration between the Laboratories of Forest Road Construction & Forest Engineering Projects of our Department and the Laboratory of Water Resource Management, Energy, and Fluid Mechanics of the Energy Systems Department at the University of Thessaly, a weather station was installed on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences, and Design for mutual research purposes.
The data recorded on a 24-hour basis includes temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, and barometric pressure. This data will be accessible to the teaching and research staff of the Department for potential use in research projects, theses, and doctoral dissertations.
The station was installed and put into operation by the heads of the Laboratories, Associate Professor Grigorios Papageorgiou and Professor Spyridon Kotsopoulos, along with PhD candidates Mr. Nikolaos Xafoulis and Mr. Christos Stamatiou.
