A dissemination day for the European Sustainable Modular Houses for People in Need (HOPE) program was successfully held in Karditsa on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, in the auditorium of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design of the University of Thessaly.

The day was greeted by the director of the Institute of Wood, Furniture & Wooden Packaging and President of the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences & Design (FWSD) of the University of Thessaly, Professor Georgios Ntalos. Afterwards, the scientific manager of the project, Konstantinos Ninikas, presented the evolution of the European Plan and presented the four deliverables of this project, which are aimed at engineers and craftsmen as part of their training.

The need to get to know the available materials and the techniques for creating small units (houses) that can accommodate people in need (after natural disasters, or after the need to move populations, due to wars, (immigrants) is unfortunately a reality which it must be dealt with in a sustainable way and for this reason the education of all the agencies involved is important.

The day ended with a buffet in the amphitheater area, where there was a discussion and exchange of views between the participants regarding the issues developed at the day.
