The project “Advanced training on sustainable management of pastoral systems” (TranSuMan), approved by the European Commission under Key Action 2 (KA220 HED) – Collaborative partnerships in higher education, aims to develop an innovative educational approach to create a professional profile. able to address the sustainable management of European grassland ecosystems in a multidisciplinary way, according to which academic knowledge combined with the experience of local actors creating a favorable learning environment for students (tomorrow’s professionals), allowing them to work in a real environment The specific objectives of the project are: – to establish common guidelines and strategies for the sustainable management and utilization of grasslands – to define teaching methods and strategies for involving stakeholders in the teaching/learning process. – knowledge transfer to higher education students about the complexities of rangeland management, including the design of sustainable product chains based on high-quality products and bottom-up process management.

The project is coordinated by the Universita degli Sudi di Camerino (Italy) and also includes the Fundacion Universidad Catolica de Valencia San Vicente Martir (Spain), the Universitatea Babes Bolyai (Romania), while the University of Thessaly is represented by the Department of Forestry, Wood Sciences and Planning. The members of the Department are Professor Mr. Michalis Vrachnakis, Assoc. Professor Mr. Ioannis Kazoglou and Assoc. Professor Mr. Marios Trigkas. At the same time, a group of 8 students (4 undergraduates and 4 postgraduates) will be employed. The project will last until December 2023.
