In the context of the laboratory course “Topography – Geodesy” and the cooperation of the Forestry Road Construction & Forestry Engineering Projects Laboratories of our Department, the Eco-Hydraulics and Internal Water Management Department of the Agriculture, Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment Department and the Water Resources Management, Energy and Fluid Engineering Department of the Energy Systems Department , on Tuesday, 23/04/2024, a scientific lecture was held entitled: “The contribution of Drones to topographical impressions”, with the speaker, Deputy Doctor of the Laboratory of Ecohydraulics and Internal Water Management, Mr. Nikolaos G. Xafoulis. The event was graced by the presence of the Director of the Laboratory of Water Resources Management, Energy and Fluid Engineering, Professor Kotsopoulos Spyridon and the Professor of our Department, Mr. Karageorgos Antonios.

The use of new technologies is a constantly upward trend in the mapping of parcels of land and forest areas and the purpose of the presentation was to familiarize the students of the Department with them, as tools for their academic and further professional life.

Due to bad weather conditions, the presentation was held indoors. In due course, there will be a demonstration – a lecture on the possibilities of carrying out topographical work with an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) in an open space.

The students expressed interest and asked questions to Mr. Xafoulis and a productive dialogue followed.
