It is announced to the students of the 6th and 8th semesters of the FWSD Department, that the summer internship begins on Monday 8/7, with the students of the 6th semester who will practice in the Neraida forest of the Municipality of Limni Plastira until 16/7 afternoon, and continues with the students of the 8th semester for the period from 17 – 23/7 in the afternoon.
The accommodation of the students as well as the professors will be for the entire duration of the practice in the facilities of the Neraida camps of the Municipality of Limni Plastira.
The departure of the students of the 6th semester will take place on Monday 8/7 at 07.30 from the facilities of the FWSD Department and the forecourt of building A. The accompanying professor will be Mr. Vrachnakis.
As there is only one bus available to transport all students, the departure will take place in two phases, more specifically from ANGELOV to LYMPERIADOU at 07.30 and from MANACHIARIS to CHRISTIDIS about an hour and a half later.
Accordingly, for the students of the 8th semester, the departure will take place from the same point on 17/7 at 07.30 in two phases again, from ALAMISIS to BARMAKELIS and about an hour and a half later from NANOS to PSYLLOS. Accompanying professor will be Mr. Ntalos.
It is emphasized that the transfer of students to and from the camp facilities will be done EXCLUSIVELY by the University bus and not by car or other private vehicles.
The accommodation in the camp facilities will be in cabins for 5-6 people, so it is good that the students have decided in advance how they will be divided into groups of 5-6 people and by gender, otherwise it will be done in alphabetical order with the previous conditions.
Intern students must be equipped with:
- Bedding (sheets, blankets, sleeping bags, etc.)
- Necessary number of clothes (changes) for their stay in the intervals mentioned at their discretion.
- Personal cleaning and hygiene items (towels, shower gels, shampoo, etc.)
- Appropriate clothing and footwear (waterproof, relatively warm clothing, jackets, hat, long pants and T-shirt)
- Personal means of protection and accommodation (sunscreen, flashlight, insect repellent, wristwatch, etc.)
- Personal essential medicines
- Stationery and other material (notebooks, pens, computers, etc.)
Anything extra required for the implementation of the courses will be subject to individual updates on a case-by-case basis by the teachers.
It is emphasized that participation and presence in all courses are MANDATORY and for all days, in order for the practice to be considered successfully completed. Exceptions will be made only for reasons of force majeure with the obligation to repeat the courses in which the student has not completed the attendance in full the following year.
For any health problem or special handling issues, students should contact the accompanying professor each time, who will then inform the internship committee and the President of the DEXYS Department. The respective professor is responsible for any issue that arises during his stay in the internship, so students are required to obtain his permission for any additional activity they wish that does not fall under the course schedule.
For any additional information and updates required there will be further announcements.
We wish you success in this year’s summer internship and that it will be a positive experience and memory that will accompany you!
