The transnational project meeting was successfully completed in Barcelona (Mollet Del Valles) on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd November 2023. The Institute of Wood, Furniture & Wooden Packaging (of the University of Thessaly), with the role of administrator of the specific European Plan, was present at specific meeting with the Director of the Institute Professor Georgios Ntalos and the scientific manager of the project, Konstantinos Ninikas.
In the two-day meeting, the course of the project and the next steps until its completion (end of February 2024) were discussed. At the same time, we found companies related to the subject of the project – construction companies of wooden structural elements and houses. We also had a meeting with the wood association of Catalonia, which has over 2000 members, and future collaborations and joint projects were discussed.
The maturation of the process for the construction of small modular units from sustainable materials, with wood as a key element, which can accommodate people in need (earthquakes, floods, migration flows, etc.) is closer than ever.
